Inheriting Japanese manufacturing that begins with 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke)

Seiri (sorting), Seiton (ordering), Seiso (cleaning), Seiketsu (sanitizing), and Shitsuke (sustaining). 5S is a workplace methodology widely applied in manufacturing sites in Japan, but we started local staff training in Malaysia by first teaching 5S to them. This is because we wanted to let them know the passion for manufacturing that we Japanese people have long cherished. Our attitude toward manufacturing remains the same even in different places or with different people. The importance of 5S has spread among the local staff. Now their proficiency is high enough, and they hardly need advice or guidance from Japanese staff.
